Dance theatre for children aged 6 and up
What happens when feelings find no space? When pressure, arguments, and insecurity suddenly explode on the schoolyard?
In WIR, Kossi S. Aholou-Wokawui uses dance, theater, and plenty of humor to tell the story of the big emotions children carry. Amidst games, scuffles, and dares, friendships and conflicts emerge, along with questions of belonging and exclusion.
The dancers and performers Dessa Ganda and Meier Eden bring heightened, everyday situations to the stage with movement, energy, and wit – at times loud, at times vulnerable, at times comical.
This moving dance theater piece about bullying, dealing with anger, and the search for belonging questions where all this energy is supposed to go when everyday life is becoming faster and more overwhelming, even for children. It powerfully demonstrates the vital importance of solidarity, conflict resolution skills, and the fundamental need to be seen.
