Grupo Oito was founded in 2006 by choreographer Ricardo de Paula. The intercultural dance collective consists of Brazilian, German, Spanish and Italian dancers who live and work in Berlin. Different skin colors, diverse gender identities, and different cultural and social imprints come together. This microcosm of the postcolonial situation offers an ideal laboratory for questions concerning society as a whole.
