Rich Dreams, the second installment of CA$HBABY is a piece that combines contemporary dance and lecture performance to explore the intersections of dreams, money and the self, from recurring childhood dreams to nightmares, through daydreams and dream lives. The work questions the unconscious desires that we replace with ideas of “financial freedom” and looks at the realities in which money makes all wishes come true for some at the cost of other people’s nightmares. A proposal of the work is to use the strategy of dreaming and recounting our dreams to each other in order to surface other ways in which we might address the subconscious influences of capitalism.
