Flip-Flop

What could be more magical than letting your imagination run wild? You may not remember, but there was a time in our lives when everything was new and in flux, and we were constantly busy forging connections with the world around us. It lasted barely the blink of an eye. Flip: our clothes become toys. Flop: our bodies become a game. And so we invent an entire universe and experiment with different ways of being and relating to one another and to the world.

Flip-Flop is a staged play with gentle courage that inspires the audience’s joy of play and opens up space for new experiences and narratives.

A journey of transformation to discover a new world and many versions of the self can begin. Flip-Flop seeks a playful and autonomous approach to the complex process of decolonisation, on an equal footing with young children.  The production works without words, instead using a language that is very familiar to children: imagination.

The poetic body of the performance is shaped – entirely without narration or moral message – by dances and games that awaken the desire to dream up a world and, above all, to play!

A production by Theater o.N. in co-production with FELD Theater für junges Publikum. As part of the KUYUM Tanzplattform 2026.
