This workshop explores the connection between the body, voice and improvisation, drawing on Afro-diasporic movements, contemporary dance and somatic practices. Participants will explore vocal expression and physical movement, combining the influences of Caribbean laments with singing. Through guided improvisation techniques, participants will explore the fluid dialogue between movement and voice, deepening their artistic presence and awareness in the process.
Basic movement and singing experience as well as curiosity for improvisation are desirable but not a prerequisite for participation in the course.
