L-Movement

„The wonderful thing about real laughter is that it destroys any kind of system that divides people.“ (John Cleese)

Laughter is a fascinating phenomenon that connects us while revealing the deepest secrets of the human body. ‘L-Movement’ explores the physical and emotional power of laughter. The focus is on the body, or more precisely, its centre — the torso. Here, a new dance language unfolds that explores the origin of laughter and expresses its energy through fluid movements.

The piece illustrates how laughter can unite us and how it is shaped and sometimes stifled by social norms. It reminds us that genuine laughter should not be controlled because it has the power to break down systems and reconnect us with our humanity. Babies laugh long before they can speak, and this primal form of expression remains an essential part of who we are. ‘L-Movement’ is a tribute to laughter and an invitation to rediscover its untamed energy.
