Camille Badirou is a French-Beninese dancer, choreographer and performer. She began her artistic journey with ballet, later expanding to include contemporary dance and various African street dance styles.
Before completing her dance training at Studio Harmonic in Paris, she studied law and worked in the legal field. She places improvisation and research at the heart of her artistic practice, driven by her search for new forms of expression and her exploration of how the body can become a site of reflection, resistance and decolonial transformation. In 2023/24, Camille worked under the direction of choreographer Dalton Jansen in Rotterdam on the production BLACKBIRDS and choreographed SPRÉI for the Mílos Dance Company 2023 at the Théâtre Clavel in Paris. Also in 2023, she developed a group performance for the European Football Championships. She regularly takes part in dance battles and won the Club Oval Dance Battle in September 2024. In 2025, she performed in the contemporary circus and dance production Objects in the Sky. Her first solo piece, Na Kolonia, was first presented as a work in progress in 2024. In 2025, she performed her portrait piece Camille Badirou at Ballhaus Naunynstraße.
